We know that stepping into a church may be intimidating. It’s important to feel comfortable when a place is new(er) to you. Why not get your questions answered?

“There’s just something about this place.”
”I felt God’s presence so vividly.”
“The welcome and first prayer is beautiful and prepares my heart to worship.”
“The praise team with vocalists, guitars, djembe, and piano is uplifting; it’s inspiring to sing in this church.”
“It is important to me to understand things, even more complex stuff like the Christian faith. Here at St John, it’s obvious that we can think through things together.”
M. Seabrook, Worship Coordinator and Music Director
This is a solid question: WHY would someone value the Bible?

This is always a lovely evening to be together with friends and new friends. Casually chatting at tables over a delicious dinner, and then listening to someone share with the group is an encouragement, always. This go-round, Becky and Dale are going to talk about their trip to the Holy Land in 2023.
If you’re free on Thursday evening, April 30, do come over with a girlfriend to St John for a 6:00 start-time. It’s typically over around 8:00 or 8:30.

There’s something about being together
in this sanctuary with everyone
singing contemporary worship songs
praying and listening to prayers
being honest and humble
before our God who loves us
as we seek to understand
through scripture reading
and mulling the sermon
each week
…
that in this
worship experience
we might
honour our Heavenly Father
and be open for change
to happen
in our hearts
and
in how we live
as
we
draw
closer
to Jesus
and
as
we
… … …

The service starts at 10:00 AM, and ends around 11:00 / 11:15 AM - depending on the Sunday.
During church, we watch a short inspirational video on our big screen; our Praise Team leads us in singing contemporary songs mixed with hymns; there is a 15 to 20-minute sermon; we pray; then we head into the cafe to chat together with a mug of coffee or tea and homemade cookies (regularly there are GF treats).
It’s so good to talk together as friends, a privilege really, being in-person.
