If you’re new to the Christian faith, or coming back to church after a bit of time, you may be curious about our church and/or Christianity. Intentionally seeking to know more about Jesus and His priorities and His ways - that’s a wise choice that takes some time and effort on our part.
The learning can happen in so many ways: including reading the Bible on your phone, or turning the pages of a hard-cover Bible, and then taking time in quiet to ponder and pray what you just read. Maybe put a pen on paper and journal your thoughts knowing that God is interested in us, and in what’s going on in our lives. It can be like a dialogue.
Or you might listen to Christian podcasts while in your running shoes, or driving around, or sitting in your favourite comfy chair. Or you may decide to spend time in-person with others in a worship service or a Life Group at St John.

St John
Life Groups
These are small groups that meet weekly, some are on-line with Zoom, some are in person at the church. If you are interested, ask someone about it: you may be new to the Christian faith, curious and seeking, or a mature Christian.
Learning about God, as the Trinity (three in one), is a long-game undertaking:
God the Father —
His Son, Jesus Christ —
and LORD Spirit —
Surely, the Christian faith takes a lifetime of soaking our soul in scripture, prayer, worship, conversation, serving others, and the living of a life with Him uppermost in mind. If you show up at St John, feel free to ask questions - you will need to if you intend to seek after God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. Small groups are a perfect place to feel welcome and at home.

Something to consider, MORE Jesus, come even one time to check it out.
We will meet every Thursday up to, and including, May 21.
We will have one Thursday evening of
MORE Jesus
from 7:00-8:15 on June 18.
Then, it’s summer break and we’ll pick up again in September.
Tim Mackie is a remarkable person with a significant thirst to learn. With a calm, steady internal drive (and surrounded by talented artists and digital folk) he imagined The BIBLE PROJECT - and works at this initiative with his friend Jon.
Bible Project makes free, shareable resources to help people understand the Bible. Short animated videos. Podcasts. Animated posters of each of the 66 books in that one Book.

The service starts at 10:00 AM, and ends around 11:00 / 11:15 AM - depending on the Sunday.
During church, our Praise Team leads us in singing about six contemporary songs mixed with hymns; we read a few verses from the Bible; we watch a short inspirational video on our big screen; there is a 15 to 20-minute sermon; we pray; then we head into the cafe to chat together with a mug of coffee or tea and homemade cookies (regularly there are GF treats).
It’s so good to talk together as friends, a privilege really, being in-person.
